Components of the Dwellingup Discovery Forest

The Discovery Forest contains:

2 State Forest areas

2 proposed conservation areas

2 5(g) reserves which are reserved under the Land Administration Act

a portion of a proposed National Park

To achieve a mining exclusion zone around Dwellingup, short of national park declaration, there is no mechanism currently in Western Australia other than creating interim protection through an indefinitely deferred zone in conjunction with a Ministerial Statement or to provide more legislative statutory protection in the longer term for a new Amendment to the State Agreement Act.
